Dave Michaels (musician)

David Miotke (b. December 15, 1944, Chicago, Illinois) is an American keyboard player and singer, who under the name Dave Michaels was best known as co-founder of the ’60s acid rock band H. P. Lovecraft.

Miotke studied at Northwestern University, earning a bachelor’s degree in music theory and composition, and a master’s degree in applied piano. While an undergraduate in 1967, and performing under the name Dave Michaels, he joined folk singer George Edwards in forming the band H. P. Lovecraft. They released two albums, H. P. Lovecraft and H. P. Lovecraft II, which were both characterised by Edwards and Michaels‘ striking vocal harmonies and by Michaels‘ multi-instrumental skills. Michaels departed from the band in September 1968 to return to his studies.

He graduated with honors, and continued to work as a musician, singing, playing and arranging many national radio and television commercials. In 1997 he became music director at Max’s Opera Cafe in San Francisco, and also worked with the cabaret group Bizou. In 2001, he issued a debut solo album, In Dust I Sing, singing and playing original compositions to the ghazal lyrics of Francis Brabazon and Bhau Kalchuri. He also specializes in performing the standard American songbook repertoire of writers such as Cole Porter, Gershwin, and Rodgers and Hart.

Bremer shakespeare company

2011–12 Swansea City A.F.C. season

The 2011–12 season was Swansea City’s third season in the first tier of English football, and their first return to top-flight football since 1983. During the 2010–11 season, Swansea finished in 3rd place and beat Reading 4–2 in the Championship play-off final, to win promotion to the Premier League. In doing so, they became the first Welsh team to enter the Premier League. Swansea finished the season at 11th place after beating Liverpool 1–0 in the last game of the season on 13 May 2012. Safety was already confirmed two weeks prior when the Swans drew 4–4 with Wolverhampton Wanderers on 28 April 2012, a game Swansea had led 4–1, although Andrea Orlandi posted the fastest goal of the season in that match after 24 seconds.

Marco Valtulina

* Senior club appearances and goals counted for the domestic league only.

Marco Valtulina (born 3 March 1988) is an Italian footballer .

Born in Lecco, Lombardy, Valtulina started his professional career at Pro Sesto. Since 2004–05 season he played for its top youth team, Berretti. He also played for F.C. Internazionale Milano in his early career, but as a defender. He was a member of Giovanissimi Regionali under-14 team in 2001–02 season.

After a season with the first team of Pro Sesto with 12 appearances, he was signed by Serie B club Torino in co-ownership deal for undisclosed fee. As part of the deal, Serhiy Predko joined Pro Sesto, also in co-ownership deal for undisclosed fee. He returned to Sesto San Giovanni on loan in 2008–09 season.

In June 2009 Torino acquired the remain 50% registration rights. He then sold to SPAL in another co-ownership deal for undisclosed fee in July 2009. He played 19 times in his third season in the third division. In June 2010, Valtulina returned to Turin. Valtulina joined Juve Stabia in July 2010, yet another co-ownership deal, signing a multi-year contract. He only played 15 games for the promotion playoffs winner. In June 2011 Torino gave up the remain registration rights to Juve Stabia and in July 2011 released by the Serie B newcomer.

Valtulina had played for Italy Lega Pro representative teams in 2007–09 International Challenge Trophy, against Finland. He also played in 2008–09 Mirop Cup. In February 2009 he received a call-up from Italy Universiade team to prepare for the event, but he did not entered the final squad. He also dropped from the training camp in March.

Barnes–Hut simulation

The Barnes–Hut simulation (Josh Barnes and Piet Hut) is an approximation algorithm for performing an n-body simulation. It is notable for having order O(n log n) compared to a direct-sum algorithm which would be O(n2).

The simulation volume is usually divided up into cubic cells via an octree (in a three-dimensional space), so that only particles from nearby cells need to be treated individually, and particles in distant cells can be treated as a single large particle centered at the cell’s center of mass (or as a low-order multipole expansion). This can dramatically reduce the number of particle pair interactions that must be computed.

In a three-dimensional n-body simulation, the Barnes-Hut algorithm recursively divides the n bodies into groups by storing them in an octree (or a quad-tree in a 2D simulation). Each node in this tree represents a region of the three-dimensional space. The topmost node represents the whole space, and its eight children represent the eight octants of the space. The space is recursively subdivided into octants until each subdivision contains 0 or 1 bodies (some regions do not have bodies in all of their octants). There are two types of nodes in the octree: internal and external nodes. An external node has no children and is either empty or represents a single body. Each internal node represents the group of bodies beneath it, and stores the center of mass and the total mass of all its children bodies.

Particle distribution resembling two neighboring galaxies.

Complete Barnes-Hut tree. (Nodes that do not contain particles are not drawn)

Nodes of the Barnes-Hut tree used for calculating the force acting on a particle at the point of origin.

n-Body simulation based on the Barnes-Hut algorithm.

To calculate the net force on a particular body, the nodes of the tree are traversed, starting from the root. If the center of mass of an internal node is sufficiently far from the body, the bodies contained in that part of the tree are treated as a single particle whose position and mass is respectively the center of mass and total mass of the internal node. If the internal node is sufficiently close to the body, the process is repeated for each of its children.

Whether a node is or isn’t sufficiently far away from a body, depends on the quotient

s

/

d

{\displaystyle s/d}

, where s is the width of the region represented by the internal node, and d is the distance between the body and the node’s center of mass. The node is sufficiently far away when this ratio is smaller than a threshold value θ. The parameter θ determines the accuracy of the simulation; larger values of θ increase the speed of the simulation but decreases its accuracy. If θ = 0, no internal node is treated as a single body and the algorithm degenerates to a direct-sum algorithm.

Alona Barkat

Alona Barkat (Hebrew: אלונה ברקת‎‎; born 24 June 1969) is a Israeli Businesswoman, and owner of the football team Hapoel Beer Sheva.

Alona was born and raised in Ashkelon. At the age of 14 moved to Jerusalem to study atelier. Four years later returned to national service in her hometown. Then studied at the Hebrew University undergraduate and graduate studies in the history of the Middle East. During her studies she met Eli Barkat, then a student in Mathematics and Computer Science, and the two were married.

In 1996 she moved to Silicon Valley in the United States with her husband, who became a businessman with his brother Nir Barkat was an early investor in Check Point and set up the venture capital fund BRM and IVN. In the eight years in which the family lived in the United States, Barkat started in the field of philanthropy. Among other things, the fund management company has become IVN, also funded social projects, and has been active in organizations such as AIPAC and the Jewish Federation of San Francisco.

In 2004, when Israel with her family. Relations with the businessman Lonnie Herzikovic, then owner of the football team, Maccabi Tel Aviv, led her to consider entering a partnership with Maccabi Tel Aviv. She was involved in establishing a research institute at the University of Tel Aviv together with the Rashi Foundation, where she met me Elalouf, CEO of the Fund at the time and known figure in Beersheba. Alaluf convinced her to buy the football team Hapoel Beer Sheva, who played in the second division at the time.

In the summer of 2007, just weeks before the opening of the season, the acquisition of the group every previous owner, Eli Zino, and emeralds became the first woman in Israel used an owner of a football team. Barkat management team put special emphasis on youth department, educational activities and community connection. In March 2010, the group announced the departure at the end of the season, after a number of fans of the group tried to attack the coach, Guy Azouri. Spoutnik 1

Rose Windows (band)

Rose Windows was a psychedelic rock band from Seattle, WA, formed by songwriter Chris Cheveyo. Rose Windows was started by Chris Cheveyo in the fall of 2010 in the Central District of Seattle, WA. Bandmates were mainly musician friends who wandered through the house. Rabia Shaheen Qazi’s enchanting and exotic voice was the first component added to the fray. Roommate David Davila was asked to play piano and organ. Former bandmates Nils Petersen and Pat Schowe were enlisted for electric guitar and drums. Frequent houseguests Richie Rekow and Veronica Dye were brought on board for bass and flute.

Label-less at the time, Rose Windows began making plans for their first album. The band sought out local producer Randall Dunn based on his past success with the band Earth. Other local musicians were later brought on board to add harp, pedal steel, viola, and cello.

On June 25, 2013, Rose Windows released their debut album, The Sun Dogs, for Sub Pop Records.

Cheveyo describes The Sun Dogs as being about “the everyday blues that capitalism and its hit man, religion, bring on all of us.” More specifically, he sees The Sun Dogs as an acknowledgment of the circular nature of the rat race, learning to accept the evil in the world, taking joy wherever we can, and ultimately disavowing traditions of exploitation and violence.

The Sun Dogs contains elements of folk rock, psychedelic rock, Persian, Indian, and Eastern European music.

In February 2015, the band announced that their self-titled second album would be released on May 5. Sessions were recorded during the autumn of 2014 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, with Randall Dunn returning as producer. The band premiered a new song „Glory, Glory“ (the first single) and also announced that they would be performing at Levitation 2015 (Austin Psych Fest) and Sasquatch.

On March 30, the band announced via Facebook that they would not be continuing on as a musical group, and all future appearances cancelled.
